Join San Diego's Druids in celebrating Beltane by the beach .
Beltane, and its counterpart Samhain, divide the year into its two primary seasons. As Samhain is about honoring Death, Beltane, is about honoring Life. Beltane marks the passage into the growing season. May is the month of sensuality and sexuality revitalized, the reawakening of the earth and Her Children.

Join us at 7pm for a poem or two and/or a favorite myth. If you want to join with a favorite poem or one of your own, a song, read or recite a tale and discussion. Also learning new chants as well as working on the ones we know. This is a great way to practice your Bardic arts and enjoy some pagan company. Or just come and enjoy the fellowship. You don't need to sing or bring a poem.

I will claim a grill just north of the lawn bowling greens (located just north of 6th and Laurel) and try to hang something bright so you can find me. Kids, dogs, and games are all welcome! I will bring turkey dogs, buns and condiments, if you would like to bring a dish to share please do. RSVP are appreciated so I know how much food to bring. See you there : )

Covenant of the Goddess hosts this fun family event in the park to bring in Beltane. Bring picnic and family (don't forget sunscreen). Usually a raffle of some sort for prizes and baskets. This is on the west side of Balboa Park at the end of Balboa Way near 6th Ave. Just follow Balboa Way past Kalmia and all the way to the end where it loops around and starts north again. You will see the set up on the east side of the road not far from the rest rooms.
